Celtic fans saluted Fraser Forster after another big match penalty save earned the hoops a 1-1 draw away to Copenhagen in the Europa League.
In December the on-loan Southampton keeper foiled Alfredo Morelos from 12 yards to help Celtic win the League Cup with tonight’s 79th minute stop just as vital.
After a delay to check with VAR a penalty was awarded against Ryan Christie for handball and suddenly Celtic’s first half dominance was in danger of being swept away.
Jens Stage struck his shot low and true but Forster was equal to it, touching the ball onto the post then seeing it roll across the goalmouth before being scrambled to safety.
At the start of the season Forster was third choice at Southampton but an injury to Scott Bain saw Neil Lennon get in touch to bring the former England stopper back to Celtic- for the fourth time.
In his second match Forster kept a clean sheet at Ibrox and has barely looked back.
The bigger the occasion the more he seems to enjoy himself with two outstanding stops helping Celtic to a famous victory at home to Lazio.
Forster’s Southampton contract runs until June 2022, tonight’s display reinforces his value to Celtic and why the keeper should be the transfer priority once the summer window opens up.

Crazy to think where we’d be without his penalty saves this season. He comes up big when it’s needed most. Break the bank for him.
