Celtic fans went to town with Kris Boyd’s amazing column in The Sun this morning.

The former Kilmarnock striker claimed that Celtic fans had been celebrating a title win after recent results but that notion was quickly laid to rest by hoops supporters.

On December 29 Boyd told the nation how the Glasgow derby had been men against boys. Today he claimed that the match had been a bleaching despite all known statistics saying that Celtic had the upper hand despite losing 2-1.

Celtic fans know what is involved in a title win better than any group of supporters. In November 2011 their side came from 15 points behind to win the title and have been champions of Scotland ever since.

Every title win has its own story but the trophy has never been handed out during the winter break. Over the last two seasons Celtic have lost the December Glasgow derby triggering all sorts of predictions until the real football resumes after a three week break.

Boyd’s joy at the end of December didn’t survive through January, if the hoops go on to win the title Boyd’s men against boys claim is bound to be thrown back at him time and time again.
