Kevin Clancy will referee Celtic’s match against Kilmarnock on Sunday- the third time in four SPFL home matches that Neil Lennon’s side have had to put up with the FIFA listed official.

Despite having a vast pool of match officials to choose from Clancy was in charge of the Glasgow derby at the end of December and the 3-0 win over Ross County last month.

Clancy’s performance in the Glasgow derby created a lot of controversy. He awarded a foul against Ryan Christie but failed to notice what the SFA described as ‘an act of brutality’ which resulted in the Celtic midfielder getting a two match suspension.

His eye-sight seemed to be much better later on in the match, noting a cut throat gesture by Alfredo Morelos after issuing a second yellow card to the striker.

Nineteen days after the match The Sun broke the news that Morelos had been issued with a third yellow card in the away dressing room, that decision meant that the Compliance Officer was unable to take further action.

Last Saturday Clancy refereed the Hearts v Hamilton match with Accies appealing against the red card issued to Jamie Hamilton after 21 minutes.
