Chris Sutton declared Odsonne Edouard as the closest thing to he’s seen to Henrik Larsson after watching the Frenchman lead the attack on Motherwell as Neil Lennon’s side sent out an emphatic title message with a 4-0 at Fir Park tonight.

The result retained Celtic’s seven point lead at the top of the table and added three more to the goal difference advantage of Europe’s top scoring side.

Odsonne Edouard gave Celtic an early lead but it was after the break that the hoops hit top gear as they swept Motherwell aside to the delight of the visiting support behind Mark Gillespie’s goal.

Six minutes after the re-start a driving run from Callum McGregor from his own half resulted in a cut-back to Leigh Griffiths who took one touch before tucking the ball into the corner of the net.

The third goal was a thing of beauty as Ryan Christie and James Forrest combined before the ball was cut back to McGregor who took one touch before sending an unstoppable shot into the net from 20 yards out.

Edouard completed the scoring with 10 minutes left to play with a stunning free-kick from the edge of the penalty box that possibly surpassed his free-kick at Hamilton on Sunday.
