Celtic will discover today the extent of Scott Brown’s calf injury.

The hoops skipper was injured during the 1-1 draw with Copenhagen on Thursday with the full extent of the calf strain being assessed today.

Brown has played in all 27 of Celtic’s SPFL matches this season but seems certain to miss Sunday’s match at home to Kilmarnock.

Discussing Brown’s injury Neil Lennon told the Daily Record:

He felt something in his calf when he stretched. It’s not like him to come off. He will be assessed and then we’ll know more. We don’t want any more injuries to key players. I don’t know. I’ll have to wait and see. We’ll get a good look at them on Saturday.

Olivier Ntcham or Ryan Christie could move in to partner Callum McGregor in central midfield opening the door for Tom Rogic to return to the starting XI.

Last season Brown only played 21 minutes of SPFL football during October and November but since returning from injury his influence on the side has grown.

If Celtic get past Copenhagen on Thursday night the hoops will be in midweek action through until the international break at the end of March.

No other injuries were reported from the 1-1 draw against Copenhagen.
