Steven Gerrard has declined to comment on Sky Sports misquoting Alfredo Morelos.
On Monday morning the broadcaster aired a world exclusive interview with the Ibrox striker replying in Spanish to questions posed in English. Morelos was wearing club kit with the interview taking place inside Murray Park.
Sky rolled the interview out across all of its platforms with hourly airings on Sky News and Sky Sports News taking the racist comments from Celtic fans to the largest possible audience.
At Tuesday’s media conference to preview the match against Hibs Gerrard expressed his disgust at racism but later that day things changed dramatically.
Celtic issued a statement requesting an explanation over the interview in which Morelos made no mention of Celtic or of racist comments from supporters.
Sky quickly dropped the interview and issued an apology to two football clubs and the Colombian striker, the apology was issued an hour before the midweek SPFL Premiership fixtures kicked off.
Celtic have taken the matter to Ofcom but with their club and reputation of their star striker tarnished by the broadcaster the silence from Ibrox has been puzzling.

Gerrard refused to be drawn on the suspensions handed out to coaching staff Michael Beale and Tom Culshaw for bust-ups in the touchline against Celtic and Hibs.
He also declined to comment on Celtic’s decision to go to Ofcom after they branded the apology from Sky Sports for their botched translation of an Alfredo Morelos interview “inadequate”.
Sky has yet to respond to Peter Lawwell publishing Celtic’s complaint to Ofcom.
Twice this season parts of Ibrox has been closed down as a reult of UEFA punishments for racist actions.
