Graham Spiers has joined the attack on the Ibrox PR machine by hitting out at the ‘old blowhard 40 years in the business harbouring deep-seated grudges against sections of the media’.
The issue came to light last night as Michael Stewart appeared on Radio Scotland’s Sportsound programme.
While host Kenny MacIntyre tried to focus on an interview in Spanish on Sky Sports, Stewart put together the bigger picture of media coverage in Scotland.
What Rangers FC could do with a young, modern, creative PR guru instead of an old blowhard 40 years in the business harbouring deep-seated grudges against sections of the media. A disaster.

Can’t really be bothered with the debate, to be honest. I just think Rangers could enjoy a good PR if fresh thinking was brought to it.

Really? And what about the hordes of ex Rangers men in the media? Could they be go-to? That is not the issue, tbh.

Traditional PR is fighting a losing battle as social media unearths and highlights that used to remain in the background a generation ago.
Inconsistencies are quickly brought to light and shared putting making the issue of PR almost one of fire-fighting.
Normally the Sportsound programme is available as a podcast within two hours of being broadcast, last night’s show finished at 7.30pm but has yet to be uploaded to the BBC Scotland website.
