James Bisgrove has issued a desperate plea to find a kit manufacturer for next season.

Rather than discreetly work his way through his contact book the Ibrox Marketing Director has made a direct appeal for someone to produce playing and training kit for Steven Gerrard’s squad for next season.

In June a High Court ruling brought an end to the three year deal with Hummel and Elite after Sports Direct weren’t offered matching rights.

Earlier this month the Ibrox club announced that they were taking legal action against Elite for withholding payments for this season but that is likely to be met with a counter claim for not fulfilling the three year contract.

With ongoing disputes against Sports Direct and Elite it’s unlikely that there will be a rush of companies to email Bisgrove with an offer to become kit partner for next season.

Tonight, the club stated:

RANGERS are pleased to confirm they are actively seeking a partner, or partners, for the clubs Official Kit Manufacturer, Retail & Licensing Rights for Season 2020/21 and beyond. James Bisgrove, Rangers’ Commercial and Marketing Director commented: “We’re delighted to announce that we shall be engaging with potential partners that can deliver an official Rangers kit supply and retail operation that mirrors the demand of the club’s global fan base.”

The timing of the potential partnership coincides with the re-launch of the club official website this summer, with a new online club store being launched as part of the club’s digital transformation strategy. The opportunity includes the ability to operate retail outlets at Ibrox Stadium and to integrate the successful partner’s online business with the club’s website and online store.

Furthermore, Rangers will celebrate its landmark 150th year in 2022, which represents a unique opportunity for the successful partner to join the anniversary celebrations.

As part of the deal with Hummel, the state-of-the-art Murray Park training facility was renamed. With Sports Direct holding matching rights on any new offer it is unlikely that there will be a rush of offers for next season’s kit deal.
