Six days after questioning the bottle of his players following the defeat at Hearts Steven Gerrard watched his side draw 0-0 at home to Aberdeen.

The result cut Celtic’s lead at the top of the SPFL Premiership down to four points but the hoops can go seven points ahead with a win tomorrow away to Hamilton Accies.

Five weeks ago, Gerrard was celebrating victory in the Glasgow derby but since screaming into the Sky Sports camera it has all gone wrong for the Liverpool legend.

Five points dropped in a week has piled the pressure onto the Ibrox men who threw on new superstars Ianis Hagi and Flo Kamberi in a bid to get a winner against Derek McInnes’ side.

Referee Andrew Dallas found plenty of stoppage time but there was no late drama as the home fans booed their heroes off the pitch at the final whistle.

In midweek Hibs visit Ibrox while Celtic go to Motherwell who lost 1-0 to Livingston today after selling striker James Scott to Hull City on transfer deadline day.
