Kris Boyd has offered genuine praise of Odsonne Edouard!

The former Kilmarnock striker has become famous for his inability to give credit to Celtic, most famously claiming that the December 29 Glasgow derby had been a case of men against boys.

At the weekend he told readers of The Sun that the derby match had been a BLEACHING for the visitors but switching to his Sky Sports hat there was praise for Celtic’s leading scorer.

Edouard has scored 24 goals this season, including the opener in the September derby at Ibrox and has recently adapted his game to play in a front two alongside Leigh Griffiths.

Boyd told Sky Sports:

Odsonne Edouard is an unbelievable talent, he’s shown that especially over the last couple of months. Will he be up there for player of the year? Yes, there is no doubt about that. A lot has been made about the form of Leigh Griffiths as well but I think a lot of it is down to Odsonne Edouard because he can play with anybody. He can play in any league in the world as well.

I would not be surprised if Celtic have to fight off big bids for him come the summer because he is a top player and if Celtic are going to keep performing the way they have been, then it is crucial that he stays fit.

Celtic initially took Edouard on loan from Paris Saint Germain in 2017 then converted that into a permanent move in June 2018 for a club record fee of £9m.

There is bound to be speculation in the summer about interest from other clubs in the striker who has been in prolific form this season for the French u-21 side.
