Three months after claiming that there are no great players in Scotland Kris Boyd has urged English sides to buy Odsonne Edouard in the cheap.
Back in November the former Kilmarnock striker caused a stir when he told Sky Sports viewers:
A certain manager said to me ‘we think great players are here’. Let’s be honest there are no great players playing in Scotland.
If we take what we think as an unbelievable league and standard of player, there’s hardly any of them going to England as well. I’ll stand by my comment I don’t think there is great players in Scottish football.

Boyd’s views on the Scottish game seem blinkered by Celtic’s run of success with the hoops winning the last 10 domestic trophies and strong favourites to win a ninth title in a row,
After Celtic lost the December Glasgow derby he compared the players as ‘men against boys’ but now seems to have reversed his assessment.
With 24 goals for Celtic and 10 for the French u-21 side Edouard is delivering on a regular basis with his team play almost as impressive as his strike rate.
At the age of 21 Edouard had scored in derby matches, cup finals and European competitions with Boyd telling Sky Sports viewers that the Celtic striker will go to the very top in the game.
‘Nobody in England would have touched Dembele for £20m from Celtic but they’ll pay £60m to Lyon to bring him back!’
Kris Boyd believes Premier League clubs should be scouting more talent in Scotland…???????

When you go to watch Odsonne Edouard you can tell that he oozes quality. He will come down here, perform at a level, like Moussa Dembele by the way, because nobody in England would have touched him for the £20m that he left Celtic for but now they are going to go and pay Lyon £60m to bring him back to English football!
Why no just pay the £20-25m and take him? Everybody goes on about Scottish football as if, listen there is a good standard, there is a good product and there is some good players.
On Sunday Boyd is expected to be on the Sky Sports team covering Celtic’s away day at Aberdeen.
