Jeremie Frimpong has returned to training for the first time since being stretchered off at Kilmarnock on January 22.

The teenager was on the receiving end of a heavy challenge from Alan Power that went unpunished by referee Don Robertson.

Frimpong burst onto the scene I November and had a massive impact on the Celtic side, reliable at the back and bringing a fresh spark and enthusiasm down the right side.

After missing six matches through injury the 19-year-old is in the final stage of his rehab.

How is Jeremie coming along?

He trained today, looked good. Bitton and Elhamed have trained this week so they are into the groove and obviously Moi (Elyounoussi) is fit now as well so we are looking a lot stronger.

Asked if Frimpong, Elhamed and Bitton are in the equation for Sunday Lennon explained:

I don’t know, I haven’t made that decision yet. I’m not sure about Elhamed, he’s been out more long term

Frimpong was playing on the right of a midfield five at Kilmarnock when he was injured with James Forrest slotting into that role.

With his lack of height he is unlikely to play in a back three but Neil Lennon is flexible and prepared to switch between a back three and a back four.
