In contrast to Chris Sutton, Michael Stewart praised Steven Gerrard’s post match interview after watching his side lose 2-1 at Kilmarnock.

It was another unconvincing display by Gerrard’s side as they turned a 1-0 lead into a 2-1 defeat that created an explosion of anger from Ibrox fans.

Gerrard has spent heavily over three transfer windows to put his squad together but with a dozen games left to play they don’t look any more convincing than the teams put together by Mark Warburton and Pedro Caixinha.

Those two managerial flops gifted Gerrard his skipper and leading scorer with the players that the current boss brought in under scrutiny.

Top of the Flops is Ryan Kent who scored at Celtic Park and Tynecastle but has contributed little else with just six goals in all competitions for a £7m transfer fee.

As soon as he arrived Gerrard signed Connor Goldson and Nikola Katic, last summer George Edmundson and Filip Helander were added with little sign of a convincing partnership between the four.

Now the spotlight is on Gerrard to come up with solutions not answers, relying on the players whose bottle he has questioned.
