Craig Whyte has revealed details of discussions with the SFA and SPL as administration at Ibrox became inevitable during the 2011/12 season.

The SFA done their bit by ignoring UEFA Financial Fair Play regulations by allowing the club into the Champions League qualifiers despite an overdue tax demand of £2.8m. Before August was out the Sheriff Officers were visiting Ibrox.

Four ‘Old Firm’ matches were the cornerstone of the SPFL telly deal with Sky Sports regardless of how it was achieved.

Despite the efforts of Neil Doncaster and Stewart Regan administration arrived in February 2012 with the club placed in liquidation four months later.

Regan told Whyte ‘Don’t worry about it, you can still be involved’ while Doncaster reassured him that the SPL was a trade body not interested in regulations.

Plans for a debt free ‘Rangers’ entering the SPL were met with ferocious resistance by supporters of clubs that had been cheated for years, eventually the clubs fell in line despite warnings of Armageddon and Social Unrest from the chief executives of the SFA and SPL.

Doncaster remains chief executive of the new look SPFL with Andrew Dickson and Rod Petrie who approved the 2011/12 UEFA licence still involved in decision making, Petrie as President of the SFA.
