Celtic showed the form of champions to crush Hamilton Accies, and those looking in from Ibrox, 4-1 at new Douglas Park this afternoon.

After yesterday’s stalemate at Ibrox the hoops had the chance to go seven points clear at the top of the SPFL Premiership table.

Accies have made it difficult for Celtic already this season and opened the scoring through Marios Ogkmpoe with a 26th minute header from a corner.

Nine minutes later Celtic were level with a brilliantly taken Odsonne Edouard free kick from 20 yards out after Jamie Hamilton was red carded for pulling back Leigh Griffiths.

Throughout the second half Celtic pushed forward at every opportunity with Neil Lennon throwing on Jonny Hayes, Ryan Christie and Tom Rogic.

In the 78th minute a quickly taken throw in from Hayes allowed Christie to send in a near post cross that Chris Jullien brilliantly volleyed home.

Celtic were far from finished with Edouard and James Forrest scoring before the end to send Celtic to Motherwell on Wednesday with a seven point advantage as the pressure mounts on Steven Gerrard.
