Gordon Dalziel has stated the obvious- Celtic are strong favourites to win the SPFL title.
After the excitement of Wednesday night the Radio Clyde phone-in on Thursday was essential listening for Celtic fans.
For the first three weeks of January there was a constant menu of how Celtic were about to face their toughest ever challenge for the SPFL title. Some suggested that it was the first time in nine years that the hoops faced a title challenge.
The Glasgow Derby on December 29 had altered the landscape, Steven Gerrard had the measure of Celtic with the injustice of the League Cup Final corrected. Neil Lennon’s men were on the ropes heading for the canvas with Gerrard in the ascendancy.
Then the football returned.
That two point lead became five, then it was seven and on Wednesday night at Kilmarnock it reached double figures.
Dalziel and Mark Wilson were left to deal with the aftermath with the one-time Ibrox striker unable to provide any words of comfort.
