Sunday 23 February 2020 will go down as a pivotal day as Celtic drive towards the SPFL Premiership title.

Since the turn of the year Neil Lennon’s side has been in overdrive, crushing all domestic opponents after a noisy couple of weeks from across the city.

In contrast the hype has proven too much for Steven Gerrard. Expectations went off the radar when he screamed into the Sky Sports cameras at Celtic Park, at the same venue yesterday Irish Mick captured the passion, drama and elation of the day as Celtic went 12 points clear with 10 matches left to play.

Seated in the South Stand he had a perfect view of Eamonn Brophy opening the scoring from the penalty spot. The view either side of a station of Kris Ajer and Odsonne Edouard scoring wasn’t as clear but the joy was obvious.

With a draw declared in Perth the second half was confirmation of one of Kris Boyd’s most famous claims. This season it is Men Against Boys with the seasoned campaigners at Celtic too streetwise for rookie Gerrard and his pretenders.
