In a bizarre move from the SFA, Celtic have been issued with two Notices of Complaint for breaches of Disciplinary Rule 204.

The charges relate to scuffles in Sunday’s win over Hamilton Accies and last month’s Scottish Cup tie against Partick Thistle.

At New Douglas Park Leigh Griffiths, Scott Brown and Odsonne Edouard were surrounded  by eight opponents with Griffiths and Alex Gogic getting booked by referee Nick Walsh. It was the sort of incident that happens every weekend in football.

At half-time in the match Ally McCoist called for Griffiths to get a red card with that view echoed by fellow pundits Steven Thompson and James McFadden.

The SFA Compliance Officer decided that no further action would be taken against the striker but a charge has now been made against the club which could result in a fine.

The Sun reports:

CELTIC have been hit with TWO notices of complaint by the Scottish FA.

The SFA have charged the Hoops with incidents relating to their recent matches against Partick Thistle and Hamilton Accies. Scottish football’s governing body have cited Neil Lennon’s side for a breach of Disciplinary Rule 204, which relates to the behaviour of players and staff.

Brian Rice’s side have also been hit with the same notice over Sunday’s clash. Several players from both teams came together after Leigh Griffiths trampled on Sam Woods.

Griffiths didn’t trample on Woods, the grounded Accies defender rolled towards the Celtic striker.

Earlier this year Ryan Christie served a three match ban for what the SFA branded an act of brutality, next month the midfielder is expected to be in Steve Clarke’s international squad for the Euro 2020 play-off semi-final against Israel.
