Kevin Clancy referees Celtic’s match with Kilmarnock on Sunday knowing that the SFA have overturned his latest big match blunder.

Last Saturday the FIFA listed referee red carded Jamie Hamilton 21 minutes into Hamilton’s bottom-of-the-table clash against Hearts at Tynecastle.

Clancy quickly pulled out a red card for what he viewed as deliberate handball to prevent a goal-scoring opportunity.

On Wednesday the SFA upheld the appeal against the red card.

At the time Hamilton were leading 2-0 but had to settle for a 2-2 draw to keep them one point above Hearts at the foot of the table.

Sunday’s match will be the third time in four home matches that Clancy has been put in charge of Celtic. In December he handled the Glasgow derby, last month he refereed the 3-0 win over Ross County.

In total Clancy has already refereed four Celtic home matches and the away game at Hibs, Sunday will be Celtic’s 28th SPFL match of the season with Clancy in charge of six of those games. The hoops have dropped points in three matches this season with Clancy in charge of the draw at Hibs as well as the December Glasgow derby.
