Andrew Dickson has distance himself from the controversial translation of a Sky Sports’ exclusive interview with Alfredo Morelos.

The London based reporter lists Sky Sports and Sky News on his twitter profile and spent a decade working inside Ibrox before leaving in November 2014.

Dickson’s LinedIn profile describes his current role as ‘Freelance sports journalist/producer working across three departments: Sky Sports Multi-Platform, Sky Sports News and Sky Sports Football. Sky Sports Multi-Platform responsibilities: Producing and cutting/editing content for live sport bulletins on Sunrise, Sky News’ breakfast programme, and daytime and evening output on Sky News’

With that range of involvement at Sky Sports and continuing connections to Ibrox a number of social media users put two and two together to assume an involvement in the Morelos interview but in this case they have hit 222 rather than four.

Dickson has over 30,000 followers on Twitter and regularly keeps them posted with projects that he is working on.

Either side of the weekend he tweeted about Morelos before deciding to reach for the delate button.

After Monday’s interview with Morelos accused Celtic fans of using racist words Celtic asked Sky for an explanation of how they got the translation.

Sky issued a statement apologising but there was no explanation for the translation prompting Celtic into a further statement which revealed that a complaint had been made to Ofcom.

With Dickson not involved in the controversy the pressure is on Sky to give Celtic and Ofcom the answers that explain the people and process involved in the interview with made very serious accusations about the Celtic support.
