James McFadden is the latest Sky Sports pundit to call on the SFA Compliance Officer to take action against Leigh Griffiths.

Faddy, who was part of Alex McLeish’s disastrous Scotland management team that was binned last year after a string of horrendous results, appeared on Sky Sports News this morning.

Kris Boyd chose to use fake statistics while ignoring personal issues when he slated Griffiths after throwing tape towards a bin during Celtic’s 3-1 win over Kilmarnock last month.

That incident was ignored by the SFA who also chose to take no action over Alan Power’s challenge on Jeremie Frimping which has resulted in the defender missing Celtic’s last three matches.

During yesterday’s win over Hamilton Griffiths was involved in a scuffle with Alex Gogic after his grounded team-mate, Sam Woods rolled towards the Celtic striker and grabbed at his leg.

McFadden was called in by Sky Sports to review the SPFL matches over the weekend and was asked whether there will be further action taken against Griffiths who was booked alongside Gogic.

The Sun reports:

Speaking on Sky Sports, he said: “Well I think they’ll certainly look at it. There’s been a bit of debate about it up here whether it was an actual stamp or whether he should’ve been sent off.

“I do think that the SFA will look at it because there’s an argument that the defender had a hold of his foot but I think he could have avoided the defender. So I wouldn’t be surprised if they have a look at it and potentially add to the punishment.

“I can see the referee being confused over whether Leigh could have got out the way. I think he was very fortunate to stay on the pitch and as I said I think the SFA will look at it and probably look to add to the punishment as I said.”

Elsewhere on Sky Sports Alfredo Morelos is interviewed claiming that Celtic fans used racist words at him during the December 29 Glasgow derby.
