Stake Solbakken won’t be put off if Celtic open the scoring in tonight’s Europa League tie in Glasgow.

The Copenhagen boss hasn’t seen his side win in three matches this year but has a plan to see them go through to the last 16 of the Europa League.

A high scoring draw will suffice tonight with Solbakken hoping that the expectations of the home crowd can backfire on Neil Lennon’s side.

The FC Copenhagen website reports:

Ståle admitted that odds had moved in favour of the Scots after 1-1 and an away goal in Copenhagen, but recalled that we had the same feeling after we had played 1-1 against the Red Star.

“It can be a dilemma for Celtic if it is still straight as the game progresses. Although they score first, we are still involved if we score the next goal and so on. There can be plenty of psychology in the fight.”

A 0-0 draw would see Celtic through but it’s doubtful if a Celtic side has ever looked comfortable setting out for that result.

Celtic have been in free scoring form domestically since the turn of the year but will need to be at their sharpest tonight if they are to advance to the last 16 of the Europa League.

The presence and experience of Scott Brown and James Forrest will give the home side a big boost but knock-out European football is rarely straightforward as the matches against Cluj earlier this season demonstrated.
