Michael Stewart has been told that he won’t be back on BBC Scotland unless he promises not to comment on James Traynor!

Two weeks ago on Radio Scotland’s Sportsound show the former Hearts midfielder linked the Ibrox PR guru to a number of stories involving Alfredo Morelos, claiming that it was in Traynor’s interest to stoke up controversy.

The following night host Kenny MacIntyre issued an apology to Traynor explaining that he wasn’t in the studio to defend himself. On Saturday after a pre-recorded interview with Craig Whyte Tam Cowan said that he didn’t believe a word that the former Rangers owner said.

Stewart has been missing from Sportsound and Sportscene since his comments about Traynor with that state of affairs set to continue.

The Sun, where Stewart is a columnist, reports:

THE BBC have said Michael Stewart WON’T be back until they are certain the pundit’s row over Rangers PR chief Jim Traynor won’t be repeated.

The former Hearts and Hibs man has been off air for a fortnight after taking aim at Traynor on the Beeb’s radio show Sportsound.

James McFadden and Malky Mackay have replaced Stewart in recent editions of Sportscene.
