Video: That sound as Kris Ajer goal is captured behind enemy lines

For the away support there is nothing quite like a late winning goal.

For over 80 minutes the 2,500 Celtic fans looked out on a very unusual performance from their side at Pittodrie.

Winds around 50mph made a mockery of attempts to play flowing football with Aberdeen mastering the conditions far better with a regular supply of high balls pinged towards the centre of the Celtic defence.

Callum McGregor incisively finished off Celtic’s best move in the first half, timing his run perfectly to stab home the rebound after Joe Lewis had parried a shot from James Forrest.

Ash Taylor equalised for the home side with the game descending into a war of attrition highlighted by the battle between Chris Jullien and Curtis Main. The Celtic defender edged it on points.

Then, with 82 minutes on the clock, this happened.

There was still time for an incredible miss from Odsonne Edouard, some great time wasting by Ryan Christie and Tom Rogic at the corner flag and yet more high balls into the Celtic penalty box.

At the final whistle Neil Lennon raced over to join the fans in celebration, the roar from Ajer’s goal ensured that the journey back down the road was enjoyed to the full as the hoops close in on a ninth successive title win.
