Karamoko Dembele opened the scoring for Celtic reserves away to Huddersfield on Tuesday.

The 16-year-old made a brief first team appearance last Saturday against Ross County then followed that up with 90 minutes for Tommy McIntyre’s side.

From the highlights on Celtic TV it appears that the hoops dominated the match with the home side’s goal coming from a penalty at 2-0 down before Cameron Harper restored Celtic’s two goal advantage.

During January Lee O’Connor, Jonathan Afolabi, Conor Hazard and Grant Savoury moved out on loan with Celtic turning down an approach from Gillingham to take Karamoko on loan to League One.

With no formal Reserve League McIntyre’s side will have to make do with friendlies, Glasgow Cup ties and a Reserve Cup semi-final that has still to be arranged.

Kieran McGrath was Celtic’s other goal-scorer.

CELTIC: Mullen, Church, Paterson, Hjelde, Deas, Connell, Karamoko (Savoury 78), Coffey, McGrath (Harper 64), Henderson, Burt (Oko-Flex 73).

Subs: Hughes, Wylie, Murray
