Kerr McInroy starts his first match in 11 months with Celtic facing Queens Park in the Glasgow Cup at Lennoxtown tonight.
Last April while playing against Motherwell at Forthbank he was injured in an innocuous challenge that required surgery on a torn anterior cruciate ligament.
The midfielder was making great progress but has battled back from surgery, enjoying a 20 minute appearance as a substitute in last week’s Reserve Cup semi-final win over Hibs.
Tonight’s match continues a recent run of fixtures for Tommy McIntyre’s reserve squad with the top two in the Glasgow Cup group contesting next month’s final.
Celtic have still to face Partick Thistle and Graeme Murty’s youngsters with victories in all three matches needed to ensure a place in the final.
An extra-time winning goal from Robbie Deas earned Celtic last season’s trophy against the Ibrox kids in a 3-2 thriller.
