Celtic fans have been shaking their heads in disbelief at the latest ‘way out’ suggestion from Roger Mitchell.
The former SPL Chief Executive has been based in Italy for the last few years but is never slow to make suggestions for the future of Scottish football.
Scottish football clubs have never been the wealthiest with the current suspension of the game causing instant hardship, last week Hearts announced that they were looking to impose a 50% pay cut across the board to all staff.
Alongside the cash crisis there is controversy about what to do with the current campaign with 10 of the 12 clubs playing 30 of their 38 fixtures.
Some pundits and one un-named club have called for the season to be declared null and void but that could involve the SPFL repaying sponsors and broadcasters.
Mitchell has come up with a very bizarre suggestion that has gone down like a lead balloon among Celtic supporters.
After grafting through 30 matches to establish a 13 point lead there is no appetite for those matches to be disregarded. The SPFL have kept quiet on any suggestions on how the season is concluded, should they be pondering the ‘Mitchell Solution’ they can expect a storm of protest from Celtic fans.
Here is what celtic should do? For the ultimate bragging rights. Ask for “null and void” themselves. And offer clubs soft loans in scotland to get them thru. Even to Rangers. Why? Coz we”ll still get TIAR, and we’ll also have eternal glory and moral high ground. No whitabootery!

This season should finish whenever it starts again. Next season can be a late start no league cup or winter break and last resort less league games. Your statement is a joke get a grip.

Yer kidding, Rangers would claim 10iar can’t happen because the 9th season was voided. Play the season out once football returns, no rush to start the new season

This nutter has far too much time on his hands. Everyone knows the zombies will never accept our 10 oar so pandering to them is a he last thing we should do.

I think we are now at the point where they will deny it is a genuine 10IAR no matter what. If league was finished in May or June (unlikely) they will say the break changed everything, had to play 2 games a week or whatever. Give us title now, league wasn’t finished etc etc

And to think a clown like you had a position of power in our game – ??

Cmon Roger, nobody wants to save cheats. If we cant have a fair game, whats the point?

Why should Celtic bail out other clubs that have put themselves in financial difficulties THE rangers have over spent from the day they got accepted back in to the lower leagues no moral high ground needed its not Celtic’s problem

I accept the loan thing isn’t an original thought. In fact I lead with we should do “null and void”. That’s original and a winning idea. Ps: I usually don’t follow celtic blogs and certainly not on FB (which has a rather old demographic).

That include all clubs that remained silent when Celtic publicly asked for review into Scottish football administration? Message to all those clubs, ‘move on’.
