Chris Sutton has suggested that football brings in the Duckworth Lewis method to settle this season’s issues- if the league campaign can’t be resumed.
Just before noon yesterday the SFA and SPFL announced the suspension of all football until further notice sparking debate about what happens next.
The English authorities have suspended fixtures until April 4 but that seems ridiculously optimistic with the UK government set to ban mass gatherings of over 500 people.
Average points… if the season doesn’t finish whatever happens it isn’t ideal but the season is so far on. Thistle have been the worst team unfortunately for them on average points. https://t.co/0ABHWqS3G6

Why are you so angry?? Look at how Duckworth Lewis works in cricket… that’s not ideal but the fairest solution…if Rangers were top and had the best average points then they’d deserve the title but they’re not…Let’s hope the season resumes and it all works itself out. https://t.co/f6B6UEkCv1

Knowing how Scottiah football works, instead of thr Duckworth Lewis method, we’d get the Sandy Bryson version.
Title to Rangers, six match ban for Neil Lennon.

Rangers & Hearts fans in meltdown about this ?

I think that’s what most sensible people are hoping for. Get the season finished and worry about next season further down the line.
Unfortunately, some people are hoping for tragedy to stop Celtic winning 9 in a row. How the might have fallen. Tinpot!

Theres precedence in other countries to crown the top team champions but have no relegation. Expand the top tier by 2 for a year, promote the top 2 from tier 2 and in the next couple of years have 2 up and 3 down to manage it. Seems logical to me, but I’m a Leeds fan.

The season will be finished Chris. They can’t start a new one when one is still in process of being completed although it’s easy to indertsnad the desperation of Rangers fans for a Pandemic to end the nine because the messiah Stevie G couldn’t do so.

Celtic, Liverpool and Dundee United all have significant leads at the top of their divisions with huge changes in status if they complete their campaign in their current position.
For Celtic they will be the first club to celebrate winning 9-in-a-row twice, Liverpool will end a 30 year wait to be champions of England while Dundee United are looking to return to the top flight of Scottish football for the first time in four years.
The argument is certain to rumble on for weeks but the aim of every league will be to pick up where they left off, play the remaining games then start the next campaign which may be reduced in length to suit the calendar.
