With football suddenly wiped off our screens at the weekend fans had to search out alternative forms of entertainment.

Celtic TV did their but by putting some recent derby clashes available on Freeview allowing supporters to feast on some classic demolitions, title clinchers and five goal hammerings at Ibrox.

Dipping further back into the previous Glasgow derby will provide Celtic fans with even more comfort as they look at the shift in fortunes of their club.

In the mid-nineties Sky Sports would send up their top team of Martin Tyler and Andy Gray as they attempted to hype up the ‘Old Firm’ derby with the former Ibrox striker sharing crocodile tears.

For Gray it was a real treat as he revelled in the glory of Dave Murray and Walter Smith, victories were virtually assured for his old club as they lorded it over their city rivals.

No one could have predicted what was 20 years down the line, the younger generation of Celtic fans are living the dream, an era of domination not seen since the glory days of Jock Stein.

For Gray and others the nightmare of Celtic domination was pie in the sky in the mid-nineties, his concern about Celtic being left behind was badly misplaced.
