Neil Lennon will assess the fitness of James Forrest and Kris Jullien before deciding on his team to face Livingston on Wednesday.
On the back of their Europa League exit to Copenhagen on Thursday night St Johnstone pushed Celtic all the way through 90 plus minutes on a pitch that was like a throwback to the seventies.
Moi Elyounoussi and Jozo Simunovic missed the cup tie through injury with two more players injured during the match.
James Forrest was on the receiving end of a brutal foul from Jamie McCart that led to the free kick that Ryan Christie scored from while Kris Ajer was in the thick of a bruising battle with the St Johnstone strikers.
Asked by Radio Scotland (29 minutes in) how Forrest is Lennon said:
I think he has got a bit of a dead leg but I think that he should be OK. Kris Ajer has got a bit of a thigh strain as well, the game took a lot out of us physically so we’ll see how they are in the next couple of days. We lost at the Toni Macaroni Stadium earlier in the season so we have to be right for that one.
The toll of 13 matches in six weeks since returning from Dubai seems to be taking it’s toll but Wednesday’s match at Livingston is the last scheduled midweek fixture of the season.
With a 12 point lead in the SPFL Premiership and place booked in the semi-final of the Scottish Cup Lennon and his squad are on the brink of further success that no Scottish club has ever got close to.
