Exactly 12 months ago Celtic enjoyed a 2-1 Glasgow derby victory, it was a game laced with controversy refereed by Bobby Madden.

When the final whistle blew it all became too much for Andy Halliday as he watched another title find it’s way towards the hosts.

For the die-hard fan the sight of Scott Brown celebrating in advance of collecting an eighth successive title was just too much. As he raced towards the Celtic skipper the signal was clearly ‘haud me back’ as other players joined the fracas.

Scott Bain intervened to keep the peace, Mikael Lustig’s shirt got ripped but the scoreline remained the same, 2-1 for Celtic. Halliday, Bain and Lustig were given yellow cards for their part in the incident with Ryan Kent given a retrospective red for a punch on Scott Brown that was missed by Madden and fourth official Kevin Clancy.

Describing all of the action was Tom Boyd, a former player who is as committed behind a microphone as he was on the pitch during a decade playing for the hoops.

As a former Celtic captain with 72 Scotland caps it’s strange than BBC Scotland, Sky Sports and BT Sport rarely call on Boyd to share his opinions.
