Storm Jorg is unlikely to cause the postponement of Celtic’s match at St Johnstone but for the fourth weekend running Neil Lennon’s side will be playing in far from ideal conditions.

The Met Office has issued a yellow weather warning for Perth with predictions of heavy rain and winds of over 40mph at the 3pm kick off.

It has been a similar story in recent weeks away to Clyde and Aberdeen with last week’s home match against Kilmarnock being protected from the elements by the high stands at Celtic Park.

McDiarmid Park is much more open but the ground-staff have had a full week to prepare for today’s match after last Sunday’s 2-2 draw with Steven Gerrard’s European heroes. Yesterday’s match between Dundee and Arbroath at Dens Park was postponed due to a waterlogged pitch.

Hearts, Aberdeen and Hibs are already in the draw for the semi-final which will take place after today’s match.

St Johnstone haven’t scored against Celtic in their last seven outings but Tommy Wright’s side have worked their way into contention for a place in the top six with an unbeaten run of three wins and three draws since losing 3-0 to Celtic in January.
