A new transfer rumour has surfaced linking Atletico Madrid with Alfredo Morelos.
It is quite a leap on numerous levels to associate the two but it’s safe to say that in the current circumstances a record breaking transfer out of Ibrox seems unlikely.
It is now seven weeks since the January transfer window closed, not one offer came in for Morelos despite an extensive campaign to highlight his availability.
As soon as the transfer window was mentioned Steven Gerrard was highlighting the desire to reduce the size of his squad. Between the lines new Head of Football Ross Wilson was tasked with moving players on, something that his predecessor Mark Allen had failed spectacularly to do.
During December Gerrard and King claimed that the former HJK Helsinki striker wasn’t for sale, not even for £40m!

Since mid December Morelos’ stock has dropped dramatically. Almost everything possible to make him more untouchable has happened.
His so-called improved discipline was exposed by successive red cards away to Motherwell and Celtic.
When he was available again his goal touch deserted him. His fitness and conditioning was being questioned by pundits, realistic debates were held over whether Flo Kamberi, on loan from Hibs. should start in front of the Colombian.
