For over 30 years Ally McCoist has enjoyed the reputation of being the cheekiest chappy in Scottish football.
During his tax cheating glory years as a player under Dave Murray, Graeme Souness and Walter Smith the chunky striker had a gag for every occasion.
Even when he made a disastrous move into management he retained his sense of humour.
Cup defeats to Falkirk, Forfar, Alloa, Queen of the South and Raith Rovers didn’t impact on the funnyman of Scottish football.
Facing liquidation in 2012 he promised not to walk away before using TUPE legislation to transfer his contract. Soon after drawing Celtic in the semi-final of the 2014/15 League Cup he opted to take 12 months gardening leave!

Draw takes place at 20 minutes
Sunday’s Scottish Cup semi-final draw should have been the opportunity for McCoist to show that he had lost none of his cheeky charm. On TalkSPORT he had promised to outdo Rod Stewart’s legendary performance at the 2017 Scottish Cup draw.
After the horrors of Tynecastle on Saturday the last thing that he wanted to see was a late winning goal for Celtic against St Johnstone- there will be no Old Firm Scottish Cup showdown.
Joining Coisty at the draw was Si Ferry, famous to a new generation for his Open Goal video interviews featuring the great and the gory of Scottish football.
Balls number 1-4 never included ‘Rangers’, after losing to Hearts Steven Gerrard is considering walking away. McCoist had to stand in the firing line as Ferry took centre stage.
As he reached into the ‘bag o bozz’ to make the draw Ferry asked:  “This is how you used to pick the Rangers team, isn’t it?

The next few weeks promise to be a nightmare for McCoist as he relives his own demise through watching Gerrard exit the club, another loser to join Mark Warburton and Pedro Caixinha as Celtic sweep all before them.
Even the gags and banter will lack an edge as Ferry takes the place of the cubby guy that couldn’t manage his way past Alloa, Forfar and Raith Rovers.
