Jonathan Afolabi scored for the second weekend running as Dunfermline drew 1-1 at home with Queen of the South.

Celtic sent the striker out on loan at the end of January with the former Southampton man now a regular in Stevie Crawford’s side.

Last week’s goal against runaway leaders Dundee United helped the Pars to full points but the expected boost into play-off contention hasn’t materialised with a midweek draw at Arbroath followed by yesterday’s 1-1 draw with Queen of the South.

After being released by Southampton at the end of last season Celtic signed the 20-year-old on the back of impressive performances helping Ireland to the semi-finals of the u-19 European Championships.

Yesterday’s results leave Dunfermline in fifth place, trailing Dundee in the final play off spot by two points with Conor Hazard saving a penalty for the Dark Blues in their 0-0 draw at Ayr United who had Ross Doohan in goals.
