Celtic are on course for a place in the final of the Glasgow Cup thanks to a 3-0 win over Queens Park at Lennoxtown tonight.

The win takes Tommy McIntyre’s side level in top spot with Partick Thistle who they are scheduled to play next week before completing their fixtures against Graeme Murty’s Ibrox starlets.

Captain Stephen Welsh headed the home side in front after just three minutes from a cross by Kerr McInroy.

Kieran McGrath doubled the lead two minutes before the interval with Liam Burt completing the scoring from a Daniel Church cross three minutes after the restart.

As well as their Glasgow Cup commitments the young Celts face Aberdeen in the final of the Reserve Cup on March 17 at Pittodrie.

CELTIC: Hughes: Savoury, Welsh, Hjelde, Church (Paterson 80), McInroy (Wylie 50), Coffey (Montgomery 85); Dembele, Burt (Mackay 85), Oko-Flex; McGrath (Murray 80)
