The Green Brigade has stepped up its support for NHS staff with the supply of PPE equipment.
It really is a sobering thought to realise that front line hospital workers are now reliant on a group of football supporters to keep them safe while dealing with a pandemic.
A month ago the Celtic Ultras group decided to spend surplus funds on some basics for local hospitals, a mix of toiletries plus a treat or two such as a bar of chocolate or bottle of beer.
Other fans wished to make donations with the project snowballing to include deliveries to hospitals across the West of Scotland as well as in Aberdeen, Dundee and Edinburgh.
PPE update: we’re currently awaiting orders of over £3k worth of PPE (face visors, masks, gowns, gloves, goggles) which is being delivered over the next 4 weeks. Some of this has already been allocated. If you know somewhere in need, please send details via DM or email

PPE supply is now the biggest news story with the UK Government under attack from a number of angles as supplies to front line staff run dangerously low.
Rather than concentrating on doing their job nurses are having to make decisions on whether they have adequate PPE.
