Daily Record uncovers explosive new Ibrox letter calling out ‘Celtic minded’ MacLennan

The Daily Record has somehow managed to obtain a copy of an explosive letter sent to the SPFL by interim Ibrox chairman Douglas Park.

Despite 80% of SPFL clubs voting in favour of finishing the three lower divisions based on average points per game the Ibrox club seem determined to find something wrong with the process.

The gullible may assume that all is sweet inside Ibrox and the motoring industry giving Park the time to resolve the ills of Scottish football- perhaps he might propose a UEFA style of Financial Fair Play?

The good news for all at Ibrox is that last week’s decision won’t effect the SPFL Premiership, Steven Gerrard’s side remain 13 points behind Celtic with one win in their last four matches- thanks to a Dick Foster own goal for Ross County. Either side of that there were defeats from Bayer Leverkusen, Hamilton and Hearts for the Liverpool legend to analyse.

Last Saturday, shortly after Scot Gardiner was given the platform of Radio Scotland’s Sportsound show, Park called for the suspension of Neil Doncaster and Rod Mc Kenzie based on information from a whistle-blower.

Eight days on, with no sign of evidence being published by the club, the Daily Record can reveal:

In the strongly worded letter in response to the SPFL chairman demanding to see any evidence of wrongdoing, Park:

• says he WON’T provide evidence unless MacLennan, Doncaster and McKenzie aren’t involved.
• wants a copy of the league’s official whistleblower policy so the trio can’t have access to it.
• demands McLennan explains derogatory comments he made about Rangers in the past.
• accuses him of attempting to shut down the club’s concerns by denying them free speech.

Rangers are adamant they have information which shows the process of the resolution vote to be flawed, as well as calling the governance and integrity of the SPFL into question.

With his club having a going concern warning, projected £10m shortfall for the season, and no recognised share trading platform Park is well qualified to discuss governance failures.
