Chris Jullien is confident that Odsonne Edouard will still be a Celtic player whenever football resumes.
Four years ago Jullien worked alongside a young striker struggling to make the transition from outstanding prospect into a regular scorer at Toulouse.
When the defender made the journey to Celtic the young rookie had become the first choice striker, the leader of the line and the man that supporters invested their hope in.
Recent experiences have defined Celtic as a selling club with Edouard now the most sellable asset.
Since the French u-21 striker scored against St Mirren last month the football world has changed in a way that no-one could have imagined, there are no certainties in the transfer market although proven strikers will always be in demand.
Retaining French Eddie means more to the Celtic support that bringing in any new signing with Jullien having some comforting words in an interview shared with The Sun:
Odsonne was in Glasgow last time I spoke to him, and he is doing well. He’s a very good player, and one day he will have a lot of clubs interested in him but he’s in a really good place with Celtic. He’s done some unbelievable stuff, and I really hope he will still be here. I enjoy playing with him, and I want him to stay for as long as he can.
That would be unbelievable for everyone at Celtic. It’s so difficult just now with the current situation. People speak about transfers, but who knows when football will be back?
After that all the other stuff can happen. Don’t worry, I’m sure Odsonne is good and happy where he is. I’m sure he will stay. He is a bit silent, he hides what he is feeling, and he is someone who controls his emotions but Odsonne’s a really good guy. Trust me, he is quite happy here.
After a season on loan from Paris Saint Germain Edouard signed a four year contract with Celtic in June 2018.
