Roger Mitchell has tweeted that Celtic should relinquish the SPFL title!
The former SPL chairman has been in Italy for a number of years and increasingly sharing his views on social media in recent times.
It seems that being a well run and successful club is something that should count against Celtic whose continued excellence built up a 13 point lead at the top of the SPFL before football was suspended.
In the close season Celtic sold Kieran Tierney for £25m to ensure for the second summer a net gain in the transfer market, those are the sort of decisions that ensure Celtic remain profitable at the expense of the team on the park.
Mitchell’s plea comes 24 hours after the SPFL was left in stalemate with one vote still to be cast to decide on calling halt to the three lower divisions.
If the same formula is applied to the Premiership the title will be awarded to Celtic prompting a flurry of statements from Ibrox.
With Null & Void not an option the destiny of the 2019/20 title seems set once again for Celtic with only the method of deciding how it is achieved still to be decided.
Keith I said this before so it’s not today’s view. Celtic should have been bigger here and relinquished this title. And prepaid “away” tickets for next season. Leagues expanded so no relegation. And sort the real issue. Which was cash bleeding to death. It’s now embarrassing.

Celtic pay to save clubs who’s fans love to come to paradise and sit there telling us all that we are child abusers and wish the majority of our fan base to “ go on home”….. get tae…..

What utter drivel, how would relinquishing 30 games worth of hard graft be the ‘bigger’ thing to do. It would achieve absolutely zero as nobody thinks null & void is a good idea. The title wouldn’t be what it should be & most Celtic fans recognise this, that’s the bigger thing!

such erudite mince !!

Sometimes mate there is more glory in a gratitious unexpected act of altruism. 2020 will never value things normally. A levels. Annual results. Sport. The people who can’t raise their head up to see the full tragedy are im afraid severely severely limited as humans. Who cares?

Why ? Because Celtic have been fiscally sensible and have millions in the bank…..run your clubs within their means and turn a profit, then you can point fingers….

What does it make more sense to do: write off 8 games or write off 30 games?

In what world is Celtic required to relinquish a title. That implies they either already possess this season’s title or have a rightful claim to it? Celtic retaining the title for 2019/20 does not preclude teams being paid needed “prize” money.

That’s just embarrassing.
