Frank McAvennie has shared a special video on the anniversary of Billy McNeill’s death.

The two men were integral to Celtic’s Centenary Double success with a club record fee of £750,000 bringing the striker to Glasgow from West Ham where he instantly struck up a partnership with Andy Walker.

Joe Miller signed from Aberdeen soon after as McNeill’s side made their stamp on the Scottish game with the double completed thanks to two goals from McAvennie in the final of the Scottish Cup against Dundee United.

McNeill won trophies between 1965 and 1989 with the pinnacle coming in Lisbon when Celtic won the 1967 European Cup by beating Inter Milan 2-1.

More than 50 years later that triumph is still celebrated by Celtic fans with a statue of McNeill raising the trophy now at the bottom of The Celtic Way looking out over the city.

On the 53rd anniversary of the Lisbon triumph Celtic clinched the Treble by beating Hearts in the final of the Scottish Cup.
