Stewart Robertson has apparently delivered a scathing attack on his fellow board members at the SPFL.

The softly spoken accountant has been made to look more sheepish than usual during the cross-fire between the Ibrox club and the rulers of the domestic league.

A statement from Ibrox last week requested that prize money is paid out to clubs’ experiencing financial distress. When it was pointed out that clubs were able to apply for short term loans Robbo was caught in no-mans land.

Over the weekend matters got out of hand with a call made for Neil Doncaster and Rod McKenzie to be suspended with Ibrox supremo Douglas Park claiming to have explosive evidence.

Robbo has been on the receiving end of both sets of statements but according to the Daily Record his patience has snapped.

Record Sport understands board members were taken aback. A source said: “Stewart is normally a respectful and reasonable man. We have never seen him act in such a way before. It’s almost as if he’s reading a script that’s been written for him by someone else.”

Further statements are expected tonight with a board meeting of the SPFL expected to begin at 5pm.

No name was put against the report in the Record.
