Ally McCoist has accused the SPFL of ‘jiggery pokery’ over the voting procedure that resulted in the 2019/20 being declared based on average points per game.

On Friday 41 of the 42 clubs cast their vote on a proposal from the SPFL board with the Premiership voting 10-2 in favour while the lower two divisions voted it through 16-4.

In the Championship the vote was 7-2 in favour but with a 75% majority needed the final vote from Dundee would be pivotal.

On Saturday Douglas Park claimed that an independent investigation was needed into the voting procedure after he acquired information from a whistle-blower.

Alongside Alan Brazil on TalkSPORT this morning McCoist claimed that ‘jiggery pokery’ was involved before the radio station shared the clip below which was full of the sort of paranoia that made the former Question of Sport skipper a fortune while regularly getting skelped by clubs like Alloa, Forfar, Falkirk and Raith Rovers during his managerial career.

The best of it is that a lot of people have called for an independent enquiry, Alan you’ve got to but they’ve came out and said they are going to have an internal investigation, right. You couldnae make it up.

The only person calling for an independent investigation is Douglas Park but it seems that the Interim Ibrox chairman is very reluctant to hand over his ‘evidence’.

Scot Gardiner of Inverness Caley Thistle has still to comment on yesterday’s announcement.
