For seven years he was a constant part of Celtic- leaving behind a fantastic collection of memories.

For some reason Swedes seem to form a special affection with Celtic. Henrik Larsson and Johan Mjallby had it- Mikael Lustig got it in spades.

Signed in January 2012 by Neil Lennon he took a bit of time to establish himself, once he found his feet there was no going back as he created magical moments during play and also with some off the ball antics.

Without question the playing highlight was weaving through the Blue, Blue Sea of Ibrox in April 2017 before sending a Leo Messi like shot curving around Wes Foderingham to put Celtic 5-1 in front.

Watching through the video there were more than a few special goals such as a diving header against Motherwell and brilliantly taming a pass before tucking home a volley against Inverness Caley Thistle.

He might be at Genk but his prime days were at Celtic with Lustig guaranteed the warmest of welcomes any time he returns to the club.
