Alfredo Morelos’ transfer value has crashed to £13m.

Before Christmas Dave King and Steven Gerrard were dismissing the prospect of £40m offers but a few months later it seems that the striker could be bought for just over a quarter of that figure.

Since the turn of the year Morelos has scored just one goal while serving suspensions from the SFA, UEFA and his own club for a late return from Colombia.

Before every transfer window there is always speculation about clubs ‘weighing up bids’ and ‘keeping tabs’ but once the window is open no concrete offers have been made for the former HJK Helsinki starlet.

This morning the Daily Mail reports:

Morelos’ potent record has attracted a number of potential suitors which include Leicester, Newcastle, Crystal Palace and Aston Villa, according to Goal.

The report details that LaLiga trio Atletico Madrid, Valencia and Sevilla are also keeping an eye on the 23-year-old’s future.  Italian side Inter Milan, currently managed by Antonio Conte, are also thought to be interested.

It also states that a fee of around £13m (€15m) would be required to lure Morelos away from Ibrox in the coming months. Whilst there’s little doubting Morelos’ goalscoring capabilities, there have been serious concerns raised about his temperament.

After paying off Kyle Lafferty in the summer Jermain Defoe is the only other recognised striker at Ibrox.

When Gerrard decided to suspend Morelos for the Scottish Cup tie against Hearts he brought in Greg Stewart but the former Kilmarnock star failed to get an effort on target and was substituted after 67 minutes.
