The SPFL is prepared to continue the postponement of the Premiership but will pay out prize money based on a new formula in the three lower divisions.

After conference calls for each division today at Hampden the SPFL are ready to put it to a vote after coming up with a basic formula of deciding league placings based on how many points teams won for each game played. This irons out flaws for divisions in which clubs have played different numbers of fixtures.

After four weekends without any matches it seems that the SPFL board are prepared to give it a few more weeks before applying the same formula to the top division which will impact of European places, attracting the attention of UEFA.

According to the statement published by the SPFL the league positions will be decided by dividing points won by games played- which would give Celtic their ninth successive title.

Neil Lennon’s men have picked up 80 points from 30 matches giving them a score of 2.67, across the city Steven Gerrard’s side have collected 2.31 points per match.

League reconstruction will be discussed which would save Hearts from the drop and also provide a solution to the play-offs by allowing two teams promotion from each division.
