Celtic face competition for the signing of Martin Minchev.

Yesterday the Glasgow Times broke the news that Celtic were monitoring the 19-year-old with Torino and Anderlecht in the running today.

Incoming transfer at first team level is likely to be limited at Celtic until there is some degree of certainty about the resumption of football with filling Celtic Park a massive part of club finances.

Champions League prize money and transfer fees top up the regular sources of income but undermining everything is the 50,000 season ticket sales that Celtic have banked on over the last decade.

Despite the uncertainty The Sun reports:

However, Italian club Torino are long-term admirers and are hoping to snap him up this summer.

Anderlecht are also keen, but the Belgian club’s perilous financial situation could rule them out.

CSKA Sofia would like to keep Minchev in Bulgaria, but they are likely to be priced out of a deal.

Minchev has come through the ranks at Cherno More Varna, winning four full caps for Bulgaria playing on the wing or through the centre.

No details about his contract are given on TransferMarkt but with so much uncertainty around players that would normally be expected to move on for fees of upto £5m are unlikely to attract the same level of interest.
