Kheredine Idessane has taken to Twitter to attack the Daily Record and The Sun for not attributing quotes from Mark Warburton to BBC Scotland.

While the two publishers have been chasing a losing battle for advertisers over the last decade Idessane has been travelling the world watching Andy Murray without any commercial pressures.

However far into the tournament Murray progressed the man from the BBC would be checking into the best hotels in Australia, France, the USA and elsewhere to relay news back to Glasgow for radio bulletins and website reports. All of Murray’s matches and media conferences are easily accessed and covered by various news agencies.

With Kenny MacIntyre hosting the Tuesday Sportsound podcast a dig into his Ibrox contact book produced the name of Warburton, another serial failure in the long list of those that failed to stop Celtic.

As everyone knows Mister Warburton is a former city trader, or so he claims. Despite five years of gushing media coverage none of his former colleagues has ever shared a story about the incredible deals that he pulled off before swapping his pinstripes for a tracksuit.

During his hilarious six months managing in the SPFL Premiership Warbo introduced talents such as Joey Barton, Jordan Rossiter, Nicky Kranjcar, Pip Senderos and Joey Garner to Scottish football.

Those trades helped empty the Ibrox coffers but yesterday Warbo was explaining how the two Glasgow Premiership clubs could join the third tier of English football and rescue the Scottish game.

It was predictable stuff, the usual attempt to portray an eight-year-old club as big time and former city trader Warbo as some sort of deep thinking soccer visionary.

After getting the sack in less than a year from Nottingham Forest Warbo spent some time out of football and is currently managing QPR.
