After an exciting Saturday night tweet from their club Ibrox fans prepared themselves for the news that would obliterate Celtic’s 9-in-a-row success from the headlines.

The SPFL are expected to confirm the news tomorrow that Neil Lennon has crushed the Gerrard Express with Celtic fans stocking up on ice cream and jelly, flags and stickers to celebrate success.

Dave Murray and his moonbeams knew how to manipulate almost everything in Scotland with the former Rangers chief a master at dominating the news and setting his agenda.

Last night’s tweet raised expectations that Ianis Hagi was about to sign a permanent deal, either to stop 10-in-a-row or to bring in £30m from his imminent move to Real Madrid or Manchester City.

This morning started well with an amazingly staunch 7am statement from Castore Sportswear, it went straight to the heart of every bear as it played statement bingo with every cliché imaginable.

On the back of that expectations were raised for the 9am announcement. Pictures of the kit, preferably on Hagi were rumoured as the clock ticked towards 9am.

The big moment arrived, the Twitter account was turned on- with a tweet about a 7am email from a little known firm in Liverpool that have never before been involved in a football kit deal.

Some fans didn’t take the news very well, tomorrow there will be news from the SPFL which will be even less welcome.
