Kris Boyd has asked whether Steven Gerrard has had enough of Ibrox.

Yesterday, with no live action to report on, many media outlets decided to reflect on his two years in charge of the second best team in Glasgow.

In a recent Sky Sports interview Gerrard compared an SPFL enquiry to marking your own homework, whatever way he wants to look at it his own results it reads 0 out of 6.

At the end of December Boyd celebrated as if the big breakthrough had been made as Celtic lost the derby fixture.

Men against boys he claimed from the Sky Sports studio, unfortunately for Boydy the bhoys worked hard in Dubai, returning to pick up 28 points out of 30 while Gerrard’s heroes appear to have over indulged with their challenge dead in water long before Lockdown on March 13.

A two point gap has become 13 despite an easier run of fixtures. Gerrard hasn’t played a second away match against any of the top six clubs, Celtic have stretched their lead at the top despite making a second visit to Aberdeen, Motherwell and Livingston.

Week by week Boyd has had his title dreams dismantled, ‘celebrating’ two years without winning a domestic trophy Sky Sports asked Boyd various questions, concluding with THE FUTURE?

It is up to Steven what he wants to do, there is no doubt that he has the backing of the Rangers fans and the club.

When the season comes back, is he going to be backed? There’s no doubt that there needs to be fresh investment again to progress. Some of the players that have come in have not lived up to it.

Whatever happens he is going to have to come back and start really well and then see what happens from there. Rangers need to start challenging for titles, there is no getting away from it.

Steven will have a lot of thinking to do over the summer. Does he want to come back and re-build another squad or has he had enough?

On TalkSPORT overnight veteran Scottish journalist Alan Nixon speculated that Gerrard won’t be returning to Ibrox when football resumes.
